About
I’ve done a lot, and would love to tell you about it!
I’m a communications, marketing, and media strategist with over a decade of experience crafting and executing communication plans that elevate organizational visibility and drive public engagement. I’ve had the pleasure of leading communications efforts for grassroots organizations, transforming them into nationally recognized entities, and using narrative strategies to raise over $2 million in fundraising.
My expertise spans various areas, from media campaigns and relations to digital communications and content creation. I specialize in developing impactful media strategies that raise awareness of social justice issues, exceed fundraising goals, and shift national conversations. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, organized press conferences, and navigated crisis communications with finesse.
I have managed social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, creating original and compelling content for websites, blogs, e-newsletters, and more, successfully growning social media followings and boosting engagement metrics significantly.
Currently, I work as a Marketing Consultant at Horowitz Research, analyzing multicultural market trends to enhance brand perception for Fortune 500 companies. My role involves providing actionable insights that improve brand trustworthiness and consumer loyalty.
As a Strategic Communications Consultant, I’ve enhanced the public relations infrastructure of non-profit organizations, coordinated national conferences, and facilitated workshops on leveraging data and storytelling.
I also bring over a decade of public speaking and teaching experience, designing and leading educational excursions, locally and globally, participatory workshops, and dialogue programs.
I am an expert scholar on race and domestic security. I earned my Ph.D. in Black Studies x Political Science at Northwestern University, complemented by certificates in Comparative Race and Diaspora, Critical Theory, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Teaching. My academic journey also included a dual Ph.D. doctoral exchange fellowship in the Department of Philosophy at École Normale Supérieure in Paris, where I studied philosophy and conducted extensive archival research. My research projects have taken me to live or study in Germany, Morocco, France, and Tunisia.
As an interdisciplinary Black Studies scholar, my work and teaching traverse the intersections of political communication and strategy, domestic security, terrorism, counterintelligence, statecraft, military history, ecological warfare, practices of bureaucracy, policing, political repression, and community resistance. This diverse academic background equips me with a unique perspective to explore and address complex societal issues. These academic achievements, coupled with my fluency in English, Spanish, and French, and proficiency with various communications and media strategies, digital tools and platforms, serve as a testament to my knowledge and expertise in the field of communications, marketing, and media.
